you say either and i say either
you say neither and i say neither
either, either, neither, neither
let's call the whole thing off
you say tomato. I say tomato.
you say accountability. i say corruption.
you eat potato and i eat potato
accountability, corruption, potato, potato
let's call the whole thing off
so, if you wear pajamas and i wear pajamas
i'll wear pajamas and give up pajamas
for we know we need eachother so we
better call the calling off, off
oh, let's call the whole thing off

Hey Flanagan: Reverse psychology won't diffuse the issue. Sheesh!

Parliament Prorogued to Shut Down Afghan Inquiry: Flanagan
Power & Politics Video: "Everybody knows that the Parliament was prorogued in order to shut down the afghan inquiry..." said Flanagan.
Flanagan's grade school logic being that if everybody knew it, then it must be okay?
This Flanagan guy is real trouble.
Famous for saying “It doesn’t have to be true., It just has to sound plausible?."
He was also the guy who along with (now Senator) Doug Finlay delivered the final proposal to Cadman to sell his vote for a $1 million life insurance policy, assuming Stephen Harper is to believed. Cadman, wisely, declined their offer.
Why does this Rasputin get such prominent air play in the Globe on CBC etc etc? Are they trying to dumb us down, if so they are doing a bang up job!

Canada needs FDR. Canadians need a New Deal

Canada needs FDR.
Not that FDR, but rather Fundamental Democratic Reform.
But like FDR brought to Americans, Canadians need a New Deal, a new deal for democracy
However, don't expect the politicians to be that agent of change. We have to be that agent of change. This Facebook Group, Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament is an important first step, but only a first step.
The ability of the Prime Minister to prorogue Canada's Parliament on whim, when it is to his sole advantage, is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the severe erosion of democracy in Canada. Just having a new occupant in the PM's office will change little, if anything. We need a permanent change and a change in the system across the board. We need to adopt the "best practices" of democracy from around the world and enshrine them into Canada's nascent and easily abused democracy to make it work for all, and not just a few.
We need someone with the conviction, vision and courage of a Tommy Douglas to rally against the entrenched special interests that have grabbed a hold of this country and put these special interests at arms length and restore Canada's democracy for those whom it ostensibly represents, the people of Canada and the interests of all Canadians, and not simply CEO X who has PM Y in his pocket, such that Canada continues to be run by the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE) from one election to the next, such that the only thing that changes is the current occupant of 24 Sussex and the colour of the drapes in the master bedroom.
We aren't simply interested in rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but finding a ship of state that is less prone to talking on water in the first place. Canada's ship of state needs to be redesigned and refitted through the process of Fundamental Democratic Reform.

CON MP David Anderson on the virtues of proroguing and other BS

Dear Ms. S. :
I thank you for your letter. I wish you a Happy New Year and the best for 2010.
Prime Minister Harper continues to show the exceptional leadership that he has so capably demonstrated in the past. In a few short years he has restored Canada's pride both domestically and internationally. No longer do we have to be embarrassed to call ourselves Canadians as was the case so often under the previous Liberal government.
From the beginning our government has been clear as to its goals and objectives. We have campaigned on very specific issues and then carried them out. Prorogation allows us to once again come before Parliament to lay out our direction for the country for the next year or so.
This will allow us to build on the tremendous accomplishments of the past year. Taxes are lower, the economy is stable and you are keeping more money in your own pocket because of the leadership and vision of Stephen Harper.
As for the Olympics, this is just one more event that will raise Canada's international profile. Although I would love to be there with so many other Canadians, I will not be attending. I will be working in my riding and in Ottawa and look forward to addressing the issues that are important to the people of Cypress Hills-Grasslands. Once again, thank you for taking the time to express your concerns.
Sincerely,
David Anderson,
MP Cypress Hills-Grasslands

Here's 27,000 Canadians unwilling to cede power to the Harper thugs

Are you one of them? Join today by simply clicking here.
27,000 Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament represents over 10 times the membership of Harper's old Canadian Citizens Coalition thingy nether-organization. If he thought that gave him a voice and a platform, how can he dismiss this group?
Oh, I forgot he is Stephen Harper and we are not. More hypocrisy-in-the-making from the Harpercrite himself.
