Sandra Buckler, Harper's communications director was formerly a paid lobbyist for Power Corp.

Surprise . Surprise. Turns out Sandra Buckler was a paid lobbyist for Power Corp. immediately prior to jumping on Stephen Harper’s band wagon.

Just part of the revolving door of lobbyists becoming government officials and government officials becoming lobbyists in a never ending struggle to gain the higher ground of personal economic advantage. Ideology is measured by dollars and cents.

Do you suppose Sandra Buckler provides the Desmarais with daily updates about the inner workings of the Harper government the way that Marjory LeBreton did/does with Brian Mulroney?

I didn’t think Power Corp needed paid lobbyists. Just private jets and compliant Prime Ministers.

"Paul Desmarais Jr., the well-connected chairman of Power Corp. of Canada, even railed against trusts in a conversation with Prime Minister Stephen Harper during a trip to Mexico, and told him he should act quickly to stop the raft of conversions, according to sources."

As opposed to Paul Martin who was Prime Minister and was formerly a paid Vice President of Power Corp.

Yawn... nothing to see here. Show me a federal politio who wasn't connected to Power Corp in some way and I will show you a bald headed sheep.

Hey Grumpy:

Since when is Paul Martin the standard bearer for probity? Are you suggesting that we revert our standards to those of the lowest common denominator or is your just a partisan comment.

Your shallow logic so reminds me of Harper;s twisted logic, who when first confronted with the call for an inquiry into Mulroney's shady dealing had this infamous comment to make (reads like condoning corruption through whitewash to me):

“This is not a route that I want to go down, and I don’t think that if the Liberal Party thought twice about it, it is a power they would want to give me.”

Or how about Jewan Chretien whose daughter is married to PowerCorp's Desmairais and his Wife Aline accepted the "gift" of a $3 million mansion from PowerCorp right after Chretien stepped down. Or Bob Rae, his brother John Rae is PowerCorp VP, or Paul Martin - he was "gifted" his multi millione dollar ship company CSI by then PowerCorp executive Maurice Strong who also happens to be Bob Rae's uncle (the UN scam Strong came up with for Oil-for-Food involved our Canadian Wheat Board and he needed and insider with ther ships to haul the wheat. Martin's ships have the exclucive contracts to do so.
Or how about Mulroney who is now on the Board of Directors of Powe5rCorp and if you check you can go all the way back to Trudeau when these power brokers took over our country as their very own piggybank with the Liberal party as their front room puppets.
Harper is the first PM since Trudeau PowerCorp does not control or own...yet.

Hey Grumpy:

Last time I checked, none of the individuals you mentioned are in office.

Meanwhile, Stephen Harper is (unfortunately) our Prime Minister.

You are incorrect in your statement that Harper is without ties to Power Corp. Harper appointed Paul Desmarais Jr as one of 10 CEOs appointed to his hand picked North American Competitiveness Council (NACC) , which is the working end of the Security and Prosperity Partnership whose mandate is the deep integration of North America.

Please report back on the following and the Queer Intersection of Brian Mulroney's directorships with major policies of the Harper government.

Another example of the rampant state of affairs where the (government-sponsored) elitists take it upon themselves to align with and protect their brethren, damning the interests of the lowly commoner.

"True" democracy is nothing more than an illusion.
