Note to Jack Layton: Expect more of the same post LBO of BCE

Jack Layton and the NDP said boo about the LBO of BCE which will see cell phone bills sky rocket and price competition plummet. How did Jack think Teachers' was planning on paying off the $44 billion in leveraged buyout debt used to acquire BCE.....a yard sale?

Subject: NDP says NO to text message cash-grab

Thank you for your previous email. I am writing you today to tell you
that we have launched an online petition calling on cell phone providers
to act in the interest of consumers and cancel the text message
cash-grab.

We are appalled at the move by the cell phone companies, Bell Mobility
and TELUS Mobility, to charge 15 cents for all incoming text messages.
For more information on this issue, please see the following article:

If you are against this text-message cash-grab, I encourage you to sign
our petition at: http://www.ndp.ca/page/6577, join the Facebook group
at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=42606695760, and tell your
friends!

I want you to know that you can count on the NDP to speak out for
fairness and fight for the issues that matter to you. All the best.

Sincerely,

Jack Layton, MP (Toronto-Danforth)
Leader, New Democratic Party of Canada

So, are you saying that BCE will have to raise service costs in order to cope (no pun intended) with this new mountain of debt?

Is this simply day one of George Cope's 100 day plan:

Once again, the NDP are certainly focused on the BIG ISSUES!! No wonder they will never get elected federally!

Agreed.

Jack’s NDP prefer to deal with the aftermath at which point they have no leverage, as opposed to before the fact, when they actually had the power (in the case of BCE) to affect the outcome.

"I want you to know that you can count on the NDP to speak out for fairness and fight for the issues that matter to you."

HA! HA! HA! What a pathetic little man !...The nerve of asking for support in his fight over a 15c extra phone charge!!! This should satisfy those of us who lost many thousands of $$$'s in our retirement savings from the Halloween '06 CON lies. Were the NDP 'appalled' then...(?) Where was the support and, 'fight for the issues that matter to you' (?). More like complacency and self-interest I recall.
I wrote many times to the NDP party asking for their support after the Flaherty announcement. Total silence.
Although I received many requests in the mail from them since then asking for 'our' support, along with a contribution nonetheless!!!
Not even whimper of 'speaking out for fairness' then, and they were certainly not prepared to 'fight' nor protest at the betrayal...
Perhaps when the NDP can figure out what REAL priorities are...'Jack'ass and his jaded mule train might regain some form of legitimacy and respect from the voting public...!
