Boor that he is, Harper makes "crude remark" at launch of Canada's Olympics

Harper must confuse being at the launch of the Olympics with being in the locker room with the boys, although when has Harper ever been in the locker room with the boys, the total non-athlete that he is?

Prime Minister Stephen Harper identifies a key flaw with the Olympic red mittens

VICTORIA — In a brief photo opportunity, Premier Gordon Campbell and Prime Minister Stephen Harper had an amusing, but curious exchange on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters assembled in his Victoria office, Campbell held his thumbs up while wearing the red Vancouver 2010 Olympic mittens.

"I like the thumbs up," Campbell said, with Harper at his side holding an Olympic torch.

"You can't put anything up but the thumb," replied Harper.

"He can't give you the finger in those things," he added, chuckling at the reporters in the room.

After an awkward pause, a surprised Campbell looked back and responded: "I've never experienced that."

You think Harper would have said that about his beloved US media (Fox) friends? But that's our Harper, wishes he was just visiting.
What a hypocrite.

Um , errrr , what was that all about??

Nice try Steve , I guess.

The twit cannot even wear the official mittens for show and pride... because they are red

Saying "He can't give you the finger in those things," is a crude remark? A little touchy aren't we?

CAITI said...

I believe it is you who are being a little bit "touchy".

This "finger" comment of Harper's is pathetic, along with being boorish and crude.

Is this the best that Stephen Harper can do vis-a-vis comedy?

Yuk Yuk Yuk.

What a boorish jerk.

•S: (adj) boorish, loutish, neanderthal, neandertal, oafish, swinish (ill-mannered and coarse and contemptible in behavior or appearance) "was boorish and insensitive"; "the loutish manners of a bully"; "her stupid oafish husband"; "aristocratic contempt for the swinish multitude"

conspicuously and tastelessly indecent; "coarse language"; "a crude joke"; "crude behavior"; "an earthy sense of humor"; "a revoltingly gross expletive"; "a vulgar gesture"; "full of language so vulgar it should have been edited"

There is the definitions of the words you used, read them if you would still use them you are being touchy

Obviously you are a little too sensitive Brent. It was funny, even for a guy like Harper.

I wish you would get off Liblogs because you are obviously not a real Liberal.

I wish you would stop talking about income trusts because Liberals like me will make sure that we never embrace your get rich policy.

I have much more influence than you do. You are the guy who got his butt kicked by Jim Flaherty, remember?

CAITI said...

Hey Dan A:

Evidently along with Con Borg Austin, you are the self appointed arbiter of all things "funny", "sensitive" and "appropriate"?

What a joke.

Meanwhile what does it mean to be a "real Liberal"? Someone who kow-tows to the Liberal hierarchy at every opportunity?

What another joke.

Given that you claim to be so powerful within the Liberal hierarchy, why don't you start by eliminating CAITI from Liblogs and show your tolerance for free speech and opposing views while you are at it?

Are you for real? What a complete joke.

Also, while you are at it, perhaps you could ask Liblogs to get rid of Morton's blog as well. Morton (if I am mot mistaken) is a VP of Policy (or some such thing for the Liberal Party) and all he does is post picture of Polar Bears at the zoo on his blog. What's with that?

I guess when you are VP of Policy for the Liberal Party, this is what fills the Liberal's total policy vacuum. Sort of like a "place holder".

What a joke.

Meanwhile, please tell me more about your theory of "income trusts are a get rich scheme".

Better yet, don't bother as you clearly have NO IDEA what you are talking about?

Does that mean that you are a Liberal and I am not? If so, over to you.

PS: Sorry that Canada's Finance Minister Jim Flaherty beat me in the 2008 Election at a time when Liberals accross the country were unwilling to support Stephen Dion. Perhaps you could show me how it's done in 2009, err 2010 or whenever Ignatieff gets this election threat of his off the ground?

PPS: That's far from being a joke, except however it's got lots of people laughing.

Correction: Make that Stephane Dion

I occasionally read your blog and have to agree with Dan A.

There are no votes with income trusts. You and your blog actually hurt the issue for you further.

So let's get some real policy together that has REAL VOTES behind it so we can get into power again.

austin said...

"Meanwhile what does it mean to be a "real Liberal"? "

Labeling anyone who is not a partisan Liberal as a "Con Borg" is a pretty good definition.

CAITI said...

Dear nameless and anonymous Dan A, and SRK:

So your litmus test for policies is whether they are "vote getters" or not, as opposed to good policies versus bad policies and borne of facts versus fiction, such as the case with the income trust policy.

That speaks volumes about your standards for public policy making. Voter getters.....almost makes you sound like.....?

Meanwhile, please use your vast "influence" within the Liberal Party and get Michael Ignatieff to make a liar of himself by reversing what he said to me in writing on the matter of income trusts:

Brent, this is your leader. We are working on pension reform. We have made our position on income trusts clear over a year ago.
Income security for Canadians is in the top three of my platform priorities. I thank you for everything you are doing to keep
these issues before the public. Stay in touch. MI

Note to the equally anonymous Austin:

Sorry for calling you a Con Borg and not the tried and true Liberal you claim to be.

Your die hard support of Stephen Harper's crude conduct today, made that a difficult distinction to draw? Still does, but I will take your word for it.

PS: Your dictionary definition of boorish matches the intent of my words in "a crude joke". But then, evidently, that makes me sensitive. Wha?

Well ! Well ! Another Con masquerading as something they aren,t. What,s your get rich policy Danny boy? Oh ! That,s right, commiting fraud and lying your buns off about income trusts. Just another Con preaching more lies. What a revelation. Good on ya Danny Boy ! At least your consistent.

Oh Danny boy, the Cons, the Cons are calling

From fraud to fraud, and down the polls you,ll slide

The ruse is up, and all the Cons are dying

'tis you, 'tis you must go and the Libs must bide.

But come you back when honesty is in your party

Or when Harpers hushed and the reforms no more

'tis the Libs be there in sunshine or in shadow

Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, you,ve got to go.

And if you get elected, and all the countries dying

And the economies dead, as dead as it can be

You'll come and find Harper shouldn,t be lying

And kneel and say another lie to me.

And Canadians shall hear, the lies you spout to me

And all our dreams will flee and much bitter we,ll all be.

If you fail to tell the truth and keep Conning

I,ll simply wait in peace until your Conning ways are there for all to see

Thank you Danny Boy, Thank You Very Much. A Con a day keeps Harpers party at play.

Anonymous posters are a joke.

They do not have the cojones to use their real names & I wonder why that would be anyway.

There is a reason that newsprint requires all letters to the editor to be signed.

Gutless wonders are a dime a dozen & that is exactly how much their opinions are worth.

I do not know what you are going to do with knowing my name but here it is; Joseph Glenn Austin I am originally from Dunnvillen Ont. I now live in Hamilton Ont. I am just a political junkie who is center-right, so needless to say I do not belong to any political party. I may be a nobody but I am not anonymous, I use my last name.

Bravo to you.

Great to meet you as well.

I am looking for a "good" political party that will return the gov`t to the people.

Any ideas.

Thanks again

Dr. Mike, I have been looking for that too, all I can say is we are in a sorry state of affairs. We have a Conservative government that spent so long in opposition they are like the cayote chasing the road runner they finally caught it and they don't have a clue what to do with it. And can anyone tell me what the Liberal party stands for anymore? They seem determined to label themselves 'not the conservatives' which I am sure Canadians already figured that out. Even when you look to replacements for these leaders in thier respective parties there is no one who comes close to offering hope.
