Terry Corcoran’s call to have me “vaporized” came straight from George Orwell’s 1984

Terry Corcoran of the National Post once wrote: ““Needless to say, whatever one's views of the trust decision, vaporizing Brent Fullard would be a good idea, no matter what the occasion.” National Post October 27, 2007

Nice, Eh?

I have just been informed that Corcoran’s call to have me vaporized came straight from Orwell’s book 1984, which is clearly where Terry Corcoran gets his inspiration from, as he along with virtually every other so called journalist in this country, including all those in the employ of the CBC work in the Ministry of Truth, and whose job it is to repeat the government’s lies like tax leakage and tax fairness and level the playing field as if they had even an iota of truth to them, even though they are nothing more than patent falsehoods.

Keep up the great work Canadian media, you haven’t quite destroyed Canada yet, although your credibility was destroyed a long long time ago, about the time when each of you put pen to paper back on October 31, 2006 and began spouting the Harper government’s patent lies about tax leakage and calling for anyone who sought the real truth to be “vaporized”.

1984
George Orwell
Chapter 4
Summary
In this chapter we meet Winston engaged in his routine job at the Ministry of Truth. The instructions he receives for the day’s business are in newspeak, which appear to be senseless gibberish, but are soon revealed to carry very sinister meanings indeed. What Winston and his colleagues in the Records office, a section of the Ministry of Truth are involved in is no less than a stupendous, perpetual project of recreating the past. For example, an earlier edition of The Times Newspaper had reported that the army would be active on the Indian front while there would be peace on the African border. What had actually happened was the reverse. Now, Winston had to create a fresh copy of the Times, bearing the earlier date, but with the facts “updated”. All copies of the earlier edition would be destroyed and anyone who went looking for records would find the Party’s claims fully substantiated by the documents. This process applied to all written documents, there was an employee named Ampleforth whose sole occupation was to produce ideologically correct, “updated” versions of earlier poems. Another colleague dealt with erasing all records of persons who had been “vaporized”(that is, executed) by the Party, so that according to records, they had never existed at all, so of course they could not have been killed. All branches of writing, from poetry to biography, from alphabet books to dictionaries were constantly remade in this manner. There was even a special section dealing with the production of updated pornography, to which only the producers and the members of the Party’s inner circle had access.

It really makes me wonder if a guy like Corcoran contemplates why the trust people have not gone away over the last 3 1/2 years---why are they still pissed-off.

Terry , take a good close look at yourself to find the answer.

I'd like to rephrase his statement somewhat... "Needless to say, whatever one's views of the trust decision, shoving a glowing red-hot poker up Corcoran's ass would be a good idea, no matter what the occasion. We could have a parade!”

Glad you finally got around to reading '1984'. Next; 'Animal Farm', also penned by Orwell, a man ahead of his time by many decades...

Almost makes me want to buy the National Post (i.e. the company) for a dollar so that I could print that kind of vindictive vitriol!

I think their columnists already clean the toilets.

And clearly the juicest slugs they find are published in the CanWest commentary pages.

My personal brief history on that arrogant boring prick who emanated from the well of deep doo-doo reporting,...the Glob and Smell, (also the previous home base of Eric Reguly, of the 'vapourized' mind variety)!
'Corky' then took up a position as business editor for Conrad Black's (CON for short), National Post. I bet 'Dorky Corky' was a welcome force at the Post, where everyone else, (exception Diane Francis), would likely also have been hired because they were basically off their rocker(s), working alongside people less likely to let facts get in the way of their ideological preoccupations.
And those 'great pretenders' are/were two good reasons why I never read either one of these 'rags'...aimho!
