The million dollar question

"The insurance policy for a million dollars, do you know anything about that?" Zytaruk asks.

"I don't know the details. I know that there were discussions," Harper replies on the tape. "This is not for publication?"

"This will be for the book, not for the newspaper," answers Zytaruk, who works for a Surrey newspaper.

Harper goes on to explain on the tape that the offer to Cadman was "only to replace financial considerations he might lose due to an election." He adds that the offer was carried out by people who were "legitimately representing the party."

He also tells Zytaruk that he knew there was little chance Cadman would agree.

"They wanted to do it, but I told them they were wasting their time. I said Chuck had made up his mind," Harper said.

Hmm......sounds very self-incriminating to me.

Do you suppose we should deal with this latest scandal in real time or after the fact?

After all, we wouldn't want Stephen Harper to be accusing Canadians, like Mulroney's mouthpiece Guy Pratte did ,that poor hapless Steve has been the victim of a “15 year jihad”.

What rhetorical nonsense whose only goal is obfuscation. Ditto Steve.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, have you reached a verdict?"

Yes your honour, it is a unanimous verdict.

We find the accused guilty of self incrimination on all counts.

He is hereby sentenced to a life of de-raiding seniors' nest eggs.

What's the opposite of "details"? In this case, I suggest "in general" or "in principle".

So let's go to the conversation.

"The insurance policy for a million dollars, do you know anything about that?"

Wouldn't you expect to hear: "Ah... say, What?"

Logically speaking, Harper may have been saying "I don't know the details, but I know in principle that there were discussions of an insurance policy. This is not for publication?"

According to the family , Chuck was offered a policy for 1 million dollars.

We have to assume that was true--why would they lie--esp Chuck`s wife since she is running for Harper!!

Harper is a control freak--we know that to be true!!

Harper has lied before--easy to confirm!!

A control freak who lies!!!!

Not much of a stretch , esp when you have good friends like Manulife onboard.

Mike.

Mar. 4, 2008: I feel as if I am going back in time to the Watergate Scandal. Richard Nixon has returned from the dead and his name is Stephen Harper. Nixon & Harper would have been pals...both not too bright but wanting power way beyond their abilities. They know how to lie and accuse but I believe Harper's subterfuge and lies have caught up with him. Before the year 2009 he will be a memory. Flaherty better be careful.....the people of Ontario must be ready to lynch him!
