Noted Scholar, Michael Ignatieff to challenge U of T drop out, to become Prime Minister of Canada

From Wikipedia:

Harper then enrolled at the University of Toronto but after two months he dropped out, then moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he found work at Imperial Oil, in the mail room.[7]

From Wikipedia:

Michael Grant Ignatieff, MP ( born May 12, 1947) is a Canadian public intellectual, historian, and politician.

He has held academic positions at Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and the University of Toronto. An award-winning author, he has also worked as a journalist and documentary film-maker.

Ignatieff was based in the United Kingdom from 1978 to 2000. During this time he was on the staff at both the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, and worked as a film-maker and political commentator for the BBC.

He lived in the United States from 2000 to 2005; there, he was director of Harvard's Carr Center for Human Rights Policy.

He returned to Canada in 2005 and took a position as a visiting professor and senior fellow of the Munk Centre for International Studies at the University of Toronto.

C'mon! That's a pretty weak argument seeing as Harper utterly destroyed the last "scholar" to lead the Liberals.

It's not an "argument"....it's a fact.

Harper is a mental midget and a blind idealogue.

You seemed to have purposely missed a part from the Wikipedia article:

"Later, he would advance to work on the company's computer systems. He took up post-secondary studies again at the University of Calgary, where he completed a Bachelor's degree in economics. He later returned there to earn a Master's degree in economics, completed in 1993. Harper has kept strong links to the University of Calgary, and often guest-lectured there."

Also, one could also argue that it's better to have a Prime Minister who understands blue collar canadians, rather than one who reads books in a university.

All that education and he still isn't sure if he's for or against torture. For or against war. For or against a coalition.

Some people are over educated social misfits.

And as far as omitting that little tidbit about Harper attending the University of Calgary, Liberals have never let a good story stand in the way of the truth.

How does Harper understand "blue collar Canadians" exactly? From holding a few photo-ops in a Tims? Or from a spending his whole adult life working as a lobbyist and then as a politician? Maybe I'm missing something here...

The proof will be in the pudding boys.

Let the fun begin--cannot wait for question Period tomorrow.

Oooops---what do you mean there is no Question Period tomorrow--what do you mean Harper cancelled it.

So does that mean I have to wait till Friday.

Oooops again---Harper has cancelled it till near end of January.

I thought we were in the middle of a recession , so how could he cancel it like that--won`t people be losing jobs in the meantime.

Oooops , I forgot again, he does not care.

Iggy is the man--he will rock even if we have to wait till near the end of January.

You're right. I missed that part of Harper's education.....the post drop out part.....the post mail room boy part.

Once a drop out, always a drop out, as evidenced by these deceitful vote pandering promises of Harper the fraud artist and Imperial Oil mail room boy:

"Whether it is death taxes, or taxing income trusts, a new Conservative government will never let this happen” Stephen Harper , Election 2006

Harper actually held a job? Yup, his daddy worked for Imperial Oil - nepotism or what.

In fact, Harper's family was not average - they were upper middle class. He grew up in Leaside (upper middle class) and his mother was a stay at home mom when in an era that other mothers had to work.

They made really good money at Imperial Oil - I know, my husband's niece has worked there all her working life and she's about the same age as Harper and she makes really good money and always has.
