Torstar’s sleazy, distorted attack on income trusts
Remind me to tell you about the the time that I met with Bob Hepburn and the Editorial Board of Toronto Star in which they were defending Flaherty’s issuance of 18 pages of blacked out documents as “proof” of tax leakage. It made me ashamed to have ever been a Toronto Star newspaper delivery boy, the sleazy, distorted way that the Toronto Star attacked income trusts, purely for the commercial reasons of Torstar.

Toronto Star
Some 20 years ago when I was the Star's bureau chief in Washington, I was forced at 6 a.m. one day to write a cheque for $600 before I could enter a hospital for a scheduled outpatient test.
By the time I left four hours later, my medical bill had hit nearly $2,600. I was told I could pay it by cheque or use my Visa card. The reason I had to fork over a cheque or credit card at the door was that I had no U.S. health insurance.

Yes that is the piece that saved my butt in March. Besides the meeting details, the posting was insightful & educational for other reasons. (detailed class share explanation)
Having been on a few sides of things ... placing ads and doing contract work for ToStar bastards, I can safely say they disrespect their customers just as much as suppliers, contributors and in many cases their own staff.
Now when I see their profits tanking and what changes they have tried to make and who they have put in senior positions, I fully understand why.
