Whoever thinks the income trust issue isn't about "democracy", must work for a life insurance company , the NDP or Flaherty's Irish mafia

RECOMMENDATION 1 from the Finance Committee's report issued following the Public Hearings on Income Trusts:

It is imperative that a democratic government be as transparent as possible when levying a new tax so that it can be held to account by its citizens. The Committee, therefore, recommends that the federal government release the data and methodology it used to estimate the amount of federal tax revenue loss caused by the income trust sector.

What ever happened with that recommendation??

Why was nothing ever done??

Why did they harass some of the witnesses that were to testify on the behalf of trusts prior to their testimony??

Why do the Cons treat the whole committee system as a joke??

Why are they able to operate as a majority??

Where is the opposition that is supposed to hold their feet to the fire??

Why did the Cons feel it necessary to fry small investors for a concept (Tax Leakage) that they refused to verify??

Why is big business more important than the individual??

You would think that a gov`t that ran on a platform of accountability & openness would have some answers.
