Don't vote for 'fraud' Harper, Newfoundland's Williams says

The always-incendiary premier of Newfoundland, Danny Williams, took to the podium to launch a renewed offensive against Prime Minister Stephen Harper today, calling the Conservative leader a "fraud" who should not be trusted and urging Canadians to vote against the party in the Oct. 14 election. From Canwest:
Williams, who has launched an “Anything-but-Conservative” campaign to defeat Harper’s MPs, warned Canadians of “dire consequences” if they give the Conservative leader a majority government.
“I beg you and plead with you today to stop and think and decide if that is what this country deserves,” Williams told a group of business leaders in a televised address in St. John’s, N.L. “If you believe this country deserves better, then you know what to do — it’s as easy as ABC.”
However, he stopped short of endorsing any one political party or candidate as an alternative.
Williams used the occasion to tout his province’s economic advancement and vent his government’s frustrations with what he termed a swath of broken promises by the federal government. Among the latter, he cited a broken promise to leave non-renewable resources out of the equalization formula, a move he said is costing his province $10-billion.

Question for Danny Williams: Will "fraud" actually appear on the ballot?

This is not an accusation, but a question. Is there any truth to the rumour that Mr. Tiller, the man convicted of threatening Jim Flaherty, was a founding member of CAITI?
I thought I heard this on the radio today but I've seen no confirmation or denial.

CAITI does not condone any threats to anyone--even Jim Flaherty.
Flaherty may be a threat to the tax base of this country but no-one wishes him any harm.
He needs to be removed as Finance Minister As soon As possible--no doubt about it.
Even his fellow Conservative Danny Williams has condemned the Flaherty/Harper alliance , saying they are frauds.
As Dan has said , it is ABC this election.

No rumour, Tillers name is there as a member. But I am sure that CAITI does not endorse or encourage the type of action that Tiller took and was convicted of. Violence does not have a place in the fight against the poor policies of Jim Flaherty.
Another Question:
Stephen Harper's name appears on the ballot as a Conservative. But is he? His spending is more characteristic of a left wing NDP government than that of a Conservative.

Taxpayers Federation Updates Conservative’s Pre-Election Spending to $19.2-billion
OTTAWA: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) today updated its tally of pre-election spending announcements made by the Conservative government to $19.2-billion. The timetable is June 2nd to September 6th, the day before the start of the federal election campaign. This is roughly $198-million a day and more than $8.2-million every hour.
Last Thursday, the CTF estimated total pre-election spending to be $8.8-billion. This amount did not identify a $6.2-billion infrastructure spending announcement for the province of Ontario made on July 24. The information was not included on the federal government’s transportation department webpage although it was posted by the Ontario government and later found on the Government of Canada’s website. In addition, Stephen Harper’s Conservative government announced some $4-billion more in additional federal spending on September 4th, 5th and 6th. The 2008 budget set spending growth at 3.4 per cent this fiscal year. The department of finance reported last month that expenditures grew by 11.1 per cent in June alone and swelled an eye-popping 8.4 per cent in the first three months of the year. This is two-and-a-half times the 2008 budget plan.
“The Conservatives continue to claim they will still hit 3.4 per cent in spending growth for the year, but they’ve proven throughout their term in office that they can’t stop themselves from spending,” said CTF research director Adam Taylor. “Their first budget called for Ottawa’s expenditures to grow by 5.4 per cent in fiscal 2006/07. At the end of that year government receipts had jumped by 7.5 per cent. The 2007 budget plan announced an additional 5.6 per cent spending hike. The real amount in 2007/08 was a 6.9 per cent increase.”
No rumour, Tillers name is there as a member.
Where is his name? All I see on the Membership page is "four individuals" but there are no names given. What I heard yesterday is that Mr. Tiller was one of the founding members, I'm just trying to determine if that is true or not.

Here's another; why are the 4 "founding members" of CAITI not named? I assume Mr. Fullard is one of them, who are the others?

The other founding members are:
Stephan Harper, Jim Flaherty, Judy Wasylycia-Leis, Jack Layton, Mark Carney, Jack Mintz, Diane Urquhart and Gilles Duceppe.
Without these fine people, CAITI would not exist. Glad you asked.
