Will Harper's xenophobic burka voting ban be in effect for his Vanity 2008 election?

Xenophobia is a fear or contempt of that which is foreign or unknown, especially of strangers or foreign people.[1] It comes from the Greek words ξένος (xenos), meaning "foreigner," "stranger," and φόβος (phobos), meaning "fear." The term is typically used to describe a fear or dislike of foreigners or of people significantly different from oneself.

What about his own burqa of secrecy? May be court hearings will shed some light. It is time that we see real Stephen Harper.

You guys just have to knock everything, it seems just because it is the other party's policy. What the hell is wrong with asking to see somebody face just to make sure its them and not the last person that came in all dressed in black? Luckily Harper is more for voter integrity than vote pandering.

I have commented on this burka xenophobia since the day Harper felt the need to stir up this form of racial intolerance from half way around the world.....in Australia no less.

If seeing people's face before they vote is the issue, as you are alleging, then what's the deal with the 50,000++ mail in voters?

wow Caiti - that's a great response to fredm & certainly puts this veiled voter thing to rest, in my mind.

I appreciate this blog too. I'm getting a real education in finacial matters here. Thanks!

Harper`s phobias include "trusterphobia" --the fear of greedy old farts that invest in income trusts to make ends meet.

An odd fear so it would seem.

You just never know when a herd of these decrepet old geezers might take a run at the markets wrestling away control of corporations from the shaking & weak fingers of the big CEOs.

Too scary for words.

You didn't answer my question. What is wrong with asking to see somebody's face when they are doing something as important as voting?
