Conservative lead narrows: poll

Support for the Conservatives is waning somewhat, with more than 33 per cent of Canadians saying they would vote for the party if a federal election were held tomorrow, an EKOS poll suggests.
The poll, released exclusively to CBC News on Thursday, asked Canadians whom they supported. A total of 33.1 per cent of the 1,744 respondents chose the Conservatives, while 27.8 per cent picked the Liberals.
The numbers from this week's survey, conducted Jan. 4 and Jan. 5, contrast with those from the last EKOS poll done for the CBC between Dec. 9 and Dec. 15. It put support for the Conservatives at 35.9 per cent and the Liberals at 26.7 per cent.
This week's poll suggests 16 per cent of Canadians would vote for the New Democrats, 13.4 per cent for the Green Party and 9.8 per cent for the Bloc Québécois.
The margin of error associated with the survey is plus or minus 2.4 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

Finally the Canadian public has been awakened to what the hell is going on in this country---Harper is dragging us into the depths of a one-man rule.
If somehow the folks on the street can make parliament see that we are dissatisfied with all political parties & their concentration of power in the PMO , than maybe there is hope.
I cannot see where the Liberal party would be any different.
We need a total reworking of the system to put each locally elected MP back in control.
We hire these local guys to run the show , not that bunch of yes-men to the PM in the PMO.
